When the babies are eating, hum or sing softly as you cradle them close to you. After feeding, talk to them by repeating their coos and gurgles.
This activity will help the children learn to calm themselves, to show interest in familiar adults, and to listen and express themselves.

When you hear a baby cry and think that she is hungry, pick her up immediately and begin speaking to her in a soft tone. Hold her as she feeds and talk to her about what is going on around her.
Reacting to a baby’s cries will help her begin to express herself, calm herself, and begin to show interest and to develop an attachment to you. She will also learn to express herself and begin to understand that she can make things happen.

Place the babies in the stroller and take them for a walk inside or outside. Allow the children to babble to one another. Introduce vocabulary as you see new things. “Look at the tree. It has many branches.”
The babies are learning to calm themselves, beginning to recognize familiar adults and peers, listening and expressing themselves.
