Your toddler will love to play simple games with you. Prompt her to stack blocks – and count them for her as she does – and to knock them down. Identify the colors of the blocks as she stacks them. When she is done with that activity, remind her that she has to help put the blocks back in their box before moving on to the new activity.
This activity will help your toddler learn self control, determine what he likes, and how to express how he feels while interacting with you, someone he trusts. You will build his vocabulary and help him learn how communication works. Building will teach him to problem solve and to figure out how to best use his toys. He will learn that there are rules to follow as he builds muscle control and increases the dexterity in his hands.

Introduce your toddler to different art activities. She will love drawing with fat crayons, finger painting, and using big stamps. As she works, discuss the different colors you are using. Model good manners by saying things such as, “May I please use the green crayon when you are done with it?” Encourage her to do the same.
This fun activity will teach your child to use her hands in a variety of ways. She will be involved with problem solving, self-control, and learn to express her feelings in different ways. She will learn new words and new ways to communicate with you.

Your child is never too young to learn a daily bedtime routine. Help her to brush her hair, and assist her in dressing for bed. Allow her to pick out one or two bedtime books. Point to each word as you read it. Help her climb into bed and end the night talking about your favorite part of the day.
Doing this will help your child understand that there are routines. She will learn to control herself and problem solve. She will begin to understand that she can help other people. She will build her vocabulary and her oral language skills all while building her bond with you. She will learn to use her hands in a controlled manner and how to use her body to move.
