Sing with your toddler while riding in the car. Sing nursery rhymes that he is familiar with. Sing with him and then allow him to sing parts that he knows by himself. Encourage him to add hand motions to the songs.
This activity will help your toddler to show increasing self- awareness by allowing him to try to sing songs by himself. It will also encourage him to use words and common rules of speech. This activity will also help him to become aware of spoken language, improve memory for details, and develop his eye-hand coordination.

While waiting at the doctor’s office, play a color game with your toddler. Say, “Can you point to something blue?” If needed, point him in the right direction by saying, “Is it on the ground next to the table?” but do not lead him right to the item. Next, tell him to ask you to find a color.
This activity will help your toddler show increasing self-awareness, understand questions and simple directions, use words and common rules of speech. It will also help them to learn colors, gather information through observation, and learn about spatial awareness.

When going to visit a friend or family member, bring crayons, markers, pencils, and paper for your toddler. Allow him to pick his writing tool and to write or draw whatever he wants. When he is done, have him tell you about his picture and ask him if you can write his words on the paper.
This activity will help your child to use coping skills with tasks by allowing her to ask for help if needed. It will also help her recognize that drawings and writing have meaningful representations, understand how to use writing tools for drawings and scribbles, explore new ways to do things, and develop her eye-hand coordination.
