Encourage your child to sing songs, do finger plays, and tell you stories that he knows. Ask him to perform for you. See if he can add hand motions to a song or act out a story.
This activity will help your child be more confident, self-directed, purposeful, and inventive in play. It will also help her develop pre-reading skills, explore social learning, and develop finger skills through play.

Bring crayons and paper on the road with you. Ask your child to make you a picture. Talk about the different colors that he is using. Encourage him to draw pictures of your family and his friends. And then ask him to tell you about his drawing.
This activity will help build your child’s self-concept by allowing him to express his thoughts and ideas. It will also help him develop his pre-reading skills, recognize his own physical and family characteristics and those of others, and develop small motor skills.

Make grocery shopping a fun experience for your child by giving her a shopping list of her own. Make simple line drawings of foods that she is supposed to find. For instance, draw a banana, strawberry, or box of cereal on a piece of paper. Tell her that she is in charge of hunting for those items, and give her a crayon to cross off the items as she discovers them in the store.
Allowing your child to help you grocery shop will help her be more confident and to relate to adults more easily. It will also encourage her to follow directions, recognize symbols, use mathematical thinking, and do more for herself.
